Down a Rabbit Hole

Not a conspiracy rabbit hole because I'm not a weirdo

I mentioned in my Friday round-up that I was going down a Fritz Lang rabbit hole and honestly I am not even sure why I was doing that because that man was a dick. I had watched his highly revered film Metropolis probably eight years ago and that movie is long but that movie is interesting and is a huge influence on future sci-fi films that we know and love. However, this man was a menace who later would trash so many of his films, harass his stars on set and just be an all around curmudgeon. Why do I want to continue to read about this salty old dude? Because clearly I enjoy reading about evil geniuses (while I am not sure that I would actually classify Lang as a genius, the influence cannot be ignored so I will just use the term for this purpose). I watched an interview with Fritz Lang on Youtube from 1975 and my god, that man had no sense of decorum (okay yes he was old but still), clearing his throwing, clearing his nostrils, like sir, you are on CAMERA! What are you doing? What he was saying was interesting but damn, I was cringing every time that man cleared his throat. Gross. Get that man a Kleenex and a glass of water. Nasty behavior. Yes, I will be posting the link because if I had to watch it, I am giving you the opportunity to be disturbed as well.

You must be thinking, Karina, just stop going down a rabbit hole and I say to you, "absolutely not" because I need to read the interview that Peter Bogdanovich conducted with him (Bogdanovich interview a lot of the old Hollywood directors and I need to get my hands on that book) and there are a couple of other books I want to read. This is a sickness, guys. I am obsessed with Old Hollywood. I still have not finished the Oscar films I was set to watch. Send help. And, to make matters worse, the Criterion Channel has a Blacklist film noir collection for the month of May. If you need me, I'll be slowly morphing into Norma Desmond.

One other thing I would like to mention is I am tired of people amplifying the troll account that is the White House twitter account. The white gay who is running that account (that's what the word on the street is) only purpose is just to constantly troll. And frankly, a lot of it is weird so we should probably ignore it. We know this administration only cares about "owning the liberals" or whatever and they hate brown people so instead of giving that account the attention it so desperately craves (you can tell because it is becoming even weirder and even more unhinged and we are like 100 days in), stop making it national news. Let them be weirdos, call them out as being weirdos, and keep it moving. I don't give a fuck if Trump wants to be Pope and posts AI nonsense about it. Is that man even a Catholic? Peepaw has dementia. I do not care. Again, weirdo behavior. Make me the Pope. One of these days I am going to rant at you people about these protests (a certain demographic) but not now. Now I am going to tell you people to stop using Chat GPT or whatever else it's called and other AI bull shit because the majority of you are losing brain cells because you aren't using your brains AND IT SHOWS! Chat GPT as a therapist? Bitch, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Writing an email? BITCH, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? As a search engine? BITCH, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? A dumbass graphic prompt, BITCH IT IS UGLY WHAT ARE YOU DOING? The use of AI is absolutely killing our environment just because you hoes need to have some ugly ass prompt of you in Star Wars get up. Get out of here with that shit. That "art" steals, that email could've been written faster if you used your noggin, and frankly, kids are now using it to write papers? BRING BACK CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS!

I was worried when I was writing this newsletter that I wasn't sufficiently riled up about anything put putting pen to paper about the troll account plus AI... baby I am FIRED UP! Also, as I am writing this, this Celtics game is literally raised my blood pressure through the roof. We're going into overtime.
